Jamie was raised in Los Angeles, and often spent summers with family in England and Scotland. After earning interdisciplinary degrees in Mathematics/General Engineering and Fine Art/Architectural Design, she began a successful career in film working her way up as a creative executive in the fields of production design and visual effects/animation. In 2003, Jamie started her interior design company so that she could get back to her roots and pursue her passion.
Jamie has completed numerous residential projects in Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Venice, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, the Santa Ynez Valley, New York, London and beyond. She has also designed medical space at Cedars Sinai, and office space for a noted talent agency as well as an internationally celebrated industrial design firm. Hospitality is another area that Jamie really enjoys - her attention to the guest experience lends well to creating suites that are both warm and luxurious with special touches that make a guest stay a memorable experience. In 2014, Jamie produced an outreach program for the US Mission to the United Nations on the topic of environmentally sound design - an important part of Jamie's design ethos. Jamie's clients often comment that her design sense combines the best of classic English / European sensibilities with modern comforts and flare. She enjoys the juxtaposition between old and new, and strives to create environments for her clients that will inspire for many years. |
GET TO KNOW YOUDiscover
Let's get started! If we decide to move forward after an initial phone conversation or site visit, we'll set up a time to get together at your project site, or via Zoom or FaceTime (for clients who are outside of the Los Angeles area). Typically, we will talk about what your goals for the project are, tastes, preferences, budget, and any details you want to share.
For residential projects, Jamie's goal is to create spaces for you that will make your heart sing when you walk through your door. Hospitality focuses on brand, guest experience, and all of the little details that "keep 'em coming back". Commercial projects, of course, depend on the nature of the business, brand, and how to create an innovative environment that benefits both clients and team members. |
THEN CREATEDesign/Programming
Once we know what your goals are, we will look at site issues, permits, zoning, etc., before beginning any actual design work. Basically, we'll find out if what you want to do is feasible from a code and building department standpoint. This may entail meetings with contractors, structural engineers, etc.
Once feasibility has been determined, the concept design process starts in earnest. This may include floorplans, site plans, elevations, finish boards, 3D renders, and the like. If specific documents are needed for submission to the building department, they will be created during this phase. A budget will also be established based on the design plan. |
A REALITYFabrication/ Construction
Approvals are complete, and we're ready to jump in and get started with fabrication and/or construction.
This includes site prep, demo, build, as well as fabrication and installation of cabinetry, finishes, fixtures, furnishings, etc.. It's best to have a full plan, including door and window schedules, finish schedule, etc., before starting fabrication or construction. This ensures that your project won't turn into a "design-build", which can mean a longer schedule with unknown costs. Your design and construction team will work closely together to make your dream space everything you want it to be. |
